National Puzzle Day: January 29th

Celebrate with your residents this January 29th by bringing out the jigsaw puzzle collection and engaging in a Puzzle Party! We know that putting together puzzles, whether on your own or with a friend or two is fun, but did you also know that it is great for your brain! Puzzles are especially beneficial to seniors with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. You can easily modify the activity for your resident’s cognitive abilities by selecting a more simple (bigger, less pieces) or complex (smaller, more pieces) puzzle based on their needs.

This may also be a good opportunity to encourage donations of puzzles to your home and/or have family engage in puzzles with their loved ones as well.

According to NationalDayCalendar.com National Puzzle Day was created by Jodi Jill a syndicated newspaper puzzle maker and professional quiz maker back in 2002.
